The CWA District 9 Job Referral Service is designed to connect qualified broadband technicians and individuals who want a new career with quality job opportunities in the broadband sector. We believe this is best achieved by having community involvement.
The Communications Workers of America (CWA) is an International Union dedicated to inclusion and diversity. We are and have been actively working for years to elevate working people into good middle class jobs with benefits.

CWA District 9 covers California, Nevada and Hawaii and is the largest union of telecommunications workers in the region. CWA has recognized that with the large investment of Federal, State and Local funds into our longtime objective of  “Bridging the Digital Divide” that there must be equity in where these monies are spent and that low road contractors SHOULD NOT be allowed to exploit workers by creating low paying, unsafe jobs without benefits.  Fiber Optics is the future and it should be deployed equitably, safely, and create jobs in communities everywhere.

CWA District 9 is dedicated to providing a safe, fairly compensated career with good benefits. Again, a career not just a job, for those willing to apply themselves.

The Job Referral Service is free and makes no guarantee of employment or of providing workers.  However, we do believe this can be a great resource for bringing together workers, communities and employers in the Telecommunications Industry, helping bridge the Digital Divide while helping the displaced and unemployed look for jobs.  We are not a hiring hall but match workers with employers.

How does it work?

●    Employers should fill out our contact form and schedule a consultation to explain your hiring needs. CWA can connect you to technicians with experience in the broadband industry who may be looking for work. 
●    Broadband workers should fill out our contact form and schedule a consultation to tell us about your training, experience and job interests. CWA can connect you with employers who are hiring broadband technicians. 
●    Community members and organizations can fill out our contact form and help us connect with employers and workers in the broadband sector.
